How to play
Chano is a Marksman who excels at burst damage and clearing. By chaining Skill 2 into Ultimate, Skill 1, and three Basic Attacks, he can quickly dish out damage and finish enemies even in team fights. Entering a bush grants a speed boost, and when he leaves it he leaps forward and his next Basic Attack is enhanced into a double shot.
Skill 1 jumps up and grants an enhanced Basic Attack. Skill 2 sets a wolf-spirit trap at a chosen spot; when an enemy steps on it, it deals damage, reveals their position, and summons a wolf spirit to attack that enemy. The Ultimate triggers all nearby traps and consumes Skill 2's stored charges to summon wolf spirits at a chosen spot. During this time he can fire Basic Attacks while moving and gains an enhancement buff. For skill leveling, prioritize the Ultimate first, and when you can't take the Ultimate, prioritize Skill 1.
Advanced tips
When playing Chano, you'll often feel like you can't finish off chases, your damage falls short in team fights, or you get ambushed easily. Failing to finish chases comes from not using your mobility and dashes well, so you need a solid grasp of how the skills work and their timing. Low damage usually comes from falling behind on farm and gold from the early to mid game and not dealing enough damage in team fights, so it's important to get a feel for your attack rhythm. You get ambushed easily because of frequent misjudgments of your own strength, so it's important to understand the counter matchups and the positioning of yourself and your allies.
Chano's damage is built around the double shot from a bush, sustained by the dash of Skill 1 and enhanced Basic Attacks. Use Skill 2 to place traps that secure vision and wolf-spirit attacks, and the Ultimate puts you in a mounted-archer state that summons many wolf spirits to add damage. When leaving a bush, consume the stealth from your Passive to leap, and using Skill 1 right after gives you a double jump. Skill 2 isn't just for scouting bushes; using it on monsters lets you steal neutral resources across terrain, and stacking traps summons a small pack of wolf spirits when they trigger, working much like the Ultimate. Since the Ultimate's wolf spirits are summoned from the edge of the skill indicator, flipping the Ultimate's direction lets you summon them in front of you and aim quickly.
In the early game, focus on support and farming. In lane, secure your survival with traps, rotate through bushes quickly to support allies, and use the bush damage boost to contest neutral resources with your team. In the mid game, adjust your play to the situation. If behind, focus on farming and pushing lanes or towers; if ahead, rotate aggressively to support team fights, set up ambushes, and push towers to shrink the enemy's farming range and widen the gold lead. In the late game, secure vision around bushes and then enter them to refresh your Passive and double shot and boost your team-fight damage. Coordinate with your allies' engages to quickly take down the enemy backline and go for the win.
The combo basics are activating the double shot in a bush, placing a trap on the enemy's position to summon wolf spirits, a Basic Attack, and finishing with the enhanced arrow Basic Attack from the leap of Skill 1. Chase or escape across terrain as needed. When pursuing, use a bush to speed up and chase the enemy, then double shot into Skill 2 to place a trap on their position, summon wolf spirits with the Ultimate for sustained damage and a Slow, and clear from range with the powerful arrow Basic Attack after Skill 1. There's also a playstyle of planting traps in the enemy's path; once they approach, quickly place a trap to bind them with wolf spirits, double shot, summon the maximum number of wolf spirits with the Ultimate, and chase in mounted-archer state, dealing burst damage with the powerful arrow Basic Attack after Skill 1.
Chano is a hero where you'll also want to keep the matchup in mind. Against enemies with weak engages or Crowd Control like Kaizer, Agudo, and Mi Yue, Chano can use his mobility to keep his distance, attack one-sidedly, and come out ahead. Pairing with protective Supports like Ming, Liu Bang, and Zhang Fei helps: Ming creates breathing room to bring Chano's power spike sooner, while Liu Bang and Zhang Fei reduce damage with Shields, making it easier to counter and trade. On the other hand, against long-range damage dealers like Hou Yi or Huang Zhong, Chano struggles to find damage windows, and against tanks with powerful engages like Ata, he has a hard time dealing once they close in.
Skills (level values & ratios)
Passive: Hunting:While lurking in a brush, her Move Speed is increased by 10-20% and she charges a lurk value (reaching maximum in 1 second). When leaving the brush, she consumes the lurk value to perform a jump. The higher the lurk value, the longer the jump distance.
Upon entering a brush, her next basic attack becomes a double shot, with each arrow dealing 175 (70 + 60% of Physical ATK) Physical Damage (cooldown: 4 seconds).
While in a brush, damage to monsters is increased by 25%. Move Speed 10%〜20% / Base Damage 70〜140
Skill 1: Soaring Signal:Leaps into the air. While airborne, her Move Speed increases and she can leap over terrain.
Performing a basic attack in the air fires a powerful long-range control arrow, dealing 475 (230 + 140% of Bonus) Physical Damage and knocking back the enemy (no CC), while also increasing her airborne time.
Each 1% increase in Attack Speed increases the arrow's damage by 1%. CD (s) 7.5→6 / Bonus Damage 230→460 / MP Cost 40
Skill 2: Lupine Trap:Sets a lupine trap at a designated location. When an enemy touches it, she gains vision and deals 380 (380 + 90% of Bonus) Physical Damage, and summons a wolf soul at that spot to automatically attack the enemy that touched it.
Unactivated traps can be placed up to 4 at a time and become stealthed. Up to 4 traps can be placed simultaneously.
The wolf soul gains 25% of her base stats and has 50% crit effectiveness. Each of the wolf soul's attacks reduces the target's Move Speed by 5%-10% for 1 second (up to 5 stacks). Windup Time 15→12 / Base Damage 380→760 / CD (s) 2 / MP Cost 50
Ultimate: Leader Stance:Summons (2 + Skill 2 stacks) wolf souls to charge in a designated direction, consuming Skill 2 stacks to displace surrounding enemies.
Gains the kite-shot ability (able to basic attack while moving), and for 8 seconds her Move Speed increases by 10%, Physical ATK by 50, and Attack Speed by 20%.
When performing a basic attack, she also attacks the same spot even without a target. CD (s) 50→40 / Move Speed 10%→20% / Physical ATK 50→100 / Attack Speed 20%→40% / MP Cost 100
