How to play

Musashi is an Assassin whose strength lies in relentless pursuit, chasing down fleeing enemies no matter where they go. With a combo that chains Skill 2 into Basic Attack, Skill 1, Basic Attack, Ultimate, and another Basic Attack, he can reliably finish off enemies who try to create distance.

When his skills hit an enemy, his Basic Attacks are enhanced and his skill cooldowns are shortened. Skill 1 fires a wave that blocks enemy projectiles, and Skill 2 dashes forward; if it connects with an enemy, he gains a Shield and reduces the cooldown. His Ultimate locks onto an enemy and charges in, taking no damage during the charge and slowing the target's healing, then knocks up nearby enemies when the charge ends.

For leveling skills, prioritize the Ultimate first, and when the Ultimate isn't available, level up Skill 2 first.

Advanced tips

These are tips for anyone playing Musashi who feels like they can't quite land the finishing blow, can't find the rhythm of a fight, or can't fully bring out his potential. To secure kills, even though you dash often, what matters most is landing as many enhanced Basic Attacks as possible and timing your skills to match. When you can't find the rhythm, it usually means you haven't been riding the flow of the match to build an advantage, so stay mindful of that flow. To make the most of his kit, you need to judge when to join a fight, which enemies to target, and which to avoid.

Musashi closes in on his target with a two-stack charge, the dash of Skill 2, and the lock-on of his Ultimate, then uses Skill 1 to neutralize enemy Crowd Control or projectiles, deals damage with enhanced Basic Attacks, sustains himself with the Shield from Skill 2, and finally spends one stack to land the kill. While chasing, using Skill 1 carelessly will root you in place and let the enemy escape, so use it sparingly. Stacks build up through skills and moving forward, and the dash of Skill 2 triggers when it connects with a target (monsters or minions count too). By combining Skill 2 and the Ultimate, you can chase down enemy heroes even from a distance.

Early game, give the Reverse Spirit buff to a teammate and aim to reach level 4 in the jungle before you start ambushing. After getting a kill, don't linger, and avoid counter-ambushes from the enemy jungler. Mid game, before the enemy's main carries finish their items, use monsters, minions, and frontline enemies as stepping stones to dash, lock on with your Ultimate, and finish targets with Skill 2 and enhanced Basic Attacks. Once you've taken out the carries, chase down low-HP enemies. Late game, the enemy's carries have their items completed, so avoid head-on clashes; ambush from bushes, the flank, or behind, or join after your team has started a teamfight and take out the backline.

When ambushing with teammates, the flow is to knock up the enemy with your Ultimate to stop their healing, land an enhanced Basic Attack using one stack, close in with Skill 2 to build one stack, land another enhanced Basic Attack, use Skill 1 to block the enemy's attack, use an enhanced Basic Attack to shorten skill cooldowns so you can use Skill 2 again, and finish with a final enhanced Basic Attack. When cutting into the backline during a teamfight, land Skill 2 on a minion, monster, or frontline enemy, knock up your target with the Ultimate, dash and deal damage with two enhanced Basic Attacks, then keep landing hits with Skill 1, Skill 2, and enhanced Basic Attacks in between to finish the kill.

For a bush ambush, build up stacks by using skills without taking a target, then when the enemy approaches, burst them down in the order of enhanced Basic Attack, Skill 1 for a Slow, enhanced Basic Attack, two Basic Attacks, Ultimate, Basic Attack, Skill 2, Basic Attack, Skill 1. Against high-HP enemies, after securing some cooldown reduction from items, build up two stacks without taking a target, dash and Slow with the first enhanced Basic Attack, whittle them down with two Basic Attacks, Skill 1, Basic Attack, and three uses of Skill 2, then finish with Ultimate, Basic Attack, Skill 2, Basic Attack, Skill 1.

Musashi is deadly against low-HP enemies and can stop enemy healing, making him effective against heroes like Dr Bian and Yaria. The projectile block from Skill 1 makes it easy to shut down heroes who rely on projectiles like Shangguan and Liang, and you can finish them with a dash. In close combat, he fights while stacking Shields through the reset on Skill 2. On the other hand, he struggles against heroes with guaranteed damage like Lu Bu and Bai Qi, and against Tanks loaded with Crowd Control. Against Tanks with abundant Crowd Control like Menki and Liu Shan, it becomes hard to pose much of a threat.

Skills (level values & ratios)

Passive: Niten Ichiryuu:Each time a skill is activated, applies 1 stack of Keen Will (up to 2 stacks). Depending on the current stack count, the next Basic Attack gains a different enhancement effect (consuming 1 Keen Will). The enhanced Basic Attack activation is not affected by Attack Speed, and upon hitting, reduces the cooldown of Skill 1 and Skill 2 by 1 second.

At 1 stack of Keen Will:

If the target's current HP is 50% or above, the next Basic Attack becomes a dual-blade slash, dealing an additional 120 (120 + 40% of Bonus) Physical Damage to the target.

If the target's current HP is 50% or below, the next Basic Attack becomes a straight slash, dealing 45 (45 + 15% of Bonus) plus Physical Damage equal to 6% of the target's Missing HP.

At 2 stacks of Keen Will:

Dashes toward the target, dealing 187 (20 + 100% of Bonus) Physical Damage and reducing Move Speed by 25% for 1 second. Slash Damage 120〜240 / Straight Slash Damage 45〜90 / Dash Damage 20〜48 / Slow 25%〜50%

Skill 1: Illuminating Slash:Unleashes a sword aura that repels the projectiles of enemies along the path. Additionally deals 390 (390 + 130% of Bonus) Physical Damage to enemies along the path and reduces their Move Speed by 25% for 1 second.

While "Illuminating Slash" is active, becomes Super Armor. CD (s) 12→10 / Physical Damage 390→780 / Slow 25%→50%

Skill 2: Extreme Speed:Dashes in a designated direction, dealing 210 (210 + 75% of Bonus) Physical Damage to enemies along the path. Upon hitting an enemy, gains a shield of 330 (330 + 6% of Bonus) and reduces the CD by 50%. CD (s) 10→8 / Physical Damage 210→420 / Shield Effect 330→660

Ultimate: Duel to the Death:Locks onto one enemy hero and dashes to the target's position, dealing 400 (400 + 130% of Bonus) Physical Damage to enemy heroes in the area and knocking them up for 1 second. Afterward, designates the target as the duel opponent for 5 seconds, and the duel opponent has its healing effects delayed.

While dashing, becomes Super Armor and gains 50% Damage Reduction. CD (s) 50→40 / Physical Damage 400→800
