How to play
Huang Zhong is a turret-style Marksman who deals damage at extremely long range. The combo Basic Attack → Skill 2 → Basic Attack → Basic Attack → Skill 1 → Basic Attack lets you pressure your lane opponent and gain an advantage.
Every time he lands a Basic Attack, a buff to Attack and Critical rate stacks, and during the Ultimate that effect is doubled. Skill 1 gives a strong but brief burst of acceleration. Skill 2 plants a mine that reveals the position of enemies who step on it, then deals damage and Slows them. The Ultimate transforms him into a turret, raising his range and Basic Attack damage.
For leveling skills, prioritize the Ultimate first; when you can't take the Ultimate, prioritize Skill 1.
Skills (level values & ratios)
Passive: Gunner's Spirit:When performing a basic attack, Physical ATK increases by 6-12 and Crit Rate by 0.75%-1.5% for 1.5 seconds (increasing with hero level, up to 5 stacks). In Turret mode, the buff effect is doubled. Switching between Turret mode and normal mode resets the buff's remaining duration and converts the buff coefficient to the current mode's coefficient. Attack 6〜12
Skill 1: Unleash Your Potential:Draws on his inner strength, increasing Move Speed by 70% (decaying over 2 seconds). When cast in Turret mode, it immediately exits Turret mode.
Passive effect: Physical ATK increases by 20 (doubled while the skill is active). CD (s) 7.5→6 / Physical ATK 20→40 / MP Cost 40
Skill 2: Lay the Mines:Places a mine that provides vision in a designated area, dealing 360 (360 + 80% of Physical ATK) Physical Damage to the target that touches it and gaining vision of the target for 3 seconds. If the target is a hero, it additionally increases his Move Speed by 25% for 2 seconds, applies a 10%-20% Armor Break effect (increasing with skill level), and he gains a 360 (360 + 53% of Physical ATK) shield for 3 seconds. If there is an enemy target in range, cast speed increases (except in Turret mode).
Up to 2 mines can be placed at a time. CD (s) 8→6 / Base Damage 360→720 / Shield 360→720 / Armor Break % 10%→20% / MP Cost 50
Ultimate: Bring out the Artillery:Moves a certain distance and deploys a turret, becoming immobile. At the same time, for 15 seconds, Physical DEF increases by 200 and Magic DEF by 200, and each basic attack deals 350 Physical Damage to the enemy at the center of the area (damage to enemies outside the center is reduced by 40%). After performing 5-9 basic attacks (increasing with skill level), Turret mode is automatically exited. Damage to towers is reduced by 50%.
Passive effect: Entering Turret mode resets the CD of "Unleash Your Potential."
Casting this skill again exits Turret mode. CD (s) 15→12 / Base Damage 350→700 / Physical/Magic DEF Increase 200→400 / MP Cost 80
Huang Zhong — Early / Mid / Late Game
Early game: You're weak early and an easy target before level 4. Use the Movement Speed boost from Skill 1 to escape or chase, and use Skill 2's mine to secure vision in bushes while slowing enemies and lowering their defense. The Passive 'Gunner's Burning Soul' stacks attack power and Critical rate each time a Basic Attack lands, up to 5 stacks.
Mid game: In the mid game, the key is positioning where you can set up your turret safely. Your Ultimate's damage and range grow the longer it's active, so set up in a safe spot. In turret form, your Physical and Magic Defense rise greatly, giving you some durability against focus fire. You can also instantly cancel the Ultimate's setup stance with Skill 1 to flee.
Late game: In the late game, once your items are complete, the Ultimate's turret auto-attacks enemies in range with burst high enough to melt squishies in a few shots, showing top-tier burst and excellent defensive ability. It's strong enough to turn a game around on defense. Note, however, that you can't move during the Ultimate, so you're extremely vulnerable to assassin dives and Crowd Control like Pulls and Stuns.
