How to play
Bai Qi is a Tank who fights by absorbing damage and locking enemies down with excellent Crowd Control. Every time he takes damage he gains Energy, Movement Speed, and healing, so the more he gets hit, the tougher he becomes.
His basic combo flows from the Ultimate into Skill 2, then Skill 1. This lets him Immobilize the enemy's key target and go for the kill. Skill 1 deals damage and heals around him, and charging it increases the skill's effect. When he takes damage, there is a chance Skill 1 triggers automatically. Skill 2 throws a scythe in a chosen direction, Pulling enemies in its area toward him while dealing damage and Slow. The Ultimate dashes into a target location and Taunts nearby enemies.
For skill leveling, prioritize the Ultimate first, and when you can't take the Ultimate, prioritize Skill 1.
Advanced tips
When playing Bai Qi, you may feel like you can't Pull enemies in, your damage falls short, or you can't find your rhythm. When you can't Pull, study how Skill 2 works and the Pull techniques carefully. When your damage falls short, don't lean too hard on Skill 1 and Basic Attacks; instead make use of your Passive's damage and close in tightly on enemies with the Movement Speed boost to grind them down. Bai Qi shines more by understanding his matchups, rotating around the lanes, and supporting allies than by trying to set the pace with solo kills.
The core of his playstyle is to close to point-blank range using the Passive's high Movement Speed and healing, then deal damage with Skill 1 and Basic Attacks. Use Skill 2 to Pull and strike, and use the Ultimate either to start a teamfight or to escape one. The higher your Energy, the more you heal, so it is effective to use healing skills or healing items while at full Energy. Skill 2's effective range is wider than it appears, so it can Pull enemies standing at the edge of the displayed range, and positioning from the side extends the distance even further. The Ultimate's Crowd Control activates before others, so it can also cancel dash-type skills or forcibly drag back enemies with a dash.
Early on, farm steadily and use the Passive and Skill 1 to poke and trade, then break the lane open with a solo kill or by coordinating with allies. Once you've pushed the minions in, use Teleport to jump to other lanes. In the mid game, secure farm and pushing through lane swaps, and after pushing the minions, jump to another lane to launch an ambush. Late game, Immobilize the enemy's key target and focus fire with your team, or rotate to the side from outside their vision and dive in to lock them down after they've used an important skill.
His basic combo is to dash in with the Ultimate while Taunting, Pull enemies with Skill 2, deal damage alongside allies with Skill 1 and Basic Attacks, and once Skill 1 is back up, use it again to finish. From a distance, land a long-range Crowd Control by following the Ultimate with Flash, then chain into Skill 2 and Skill 1 with Basic Attacks. To clean up low-HP enemies, approach while placing Skill 2 facing backward, jump toward the enemy with the Ultimate, and use Skill 1 as you land, hitting all three skills at the same time.
In terms of matchups, he is strong paired with allies like Dr Bian or Consort Yu who supplement Bai Qi's Passive with healing, or allies like Sun Bin who extend the damage Bai Qi takes through speed boosts. Against enemies without a dash like Zilong, Bai Qi can fight favorably with his Passive's movement, and if he catches them up close with the Ultimate, they struggle to escape. On the other hand, against enemies with lots of Crowd Control like Wang Zhaojun, he gets locked down repeatedly and struggles to move, and against enemies with area skills like Huang Zhong, the Ultimate's Crowd Control is harder to land.

Bai Qi — Early / Mid / Late Game
Early game: As the frontline core of team fights, first focus on building for survivability. Timing your skills well is crucial, and you especially need to practice the Taunt and enemy-Pull skills repeatedly to get used to them.
Mid game: When you use Taunt, enemies are Pulled toward you, making it a nightmare for low-HP enemies trying to escape. Use your active skills to control the flow of the battlefield.
Late game: In team fights, hold the main tank position to absorb damage and Crowd Control enemies. Your Ultimate's Crowd Control can instantly neutralize the threat of Assassins targeting your backline.
