How to play

Li Bai is a sweeping Assassin who carves up enemies with continuous dashes to finish them off. With a combo that chains Skill 1 into Basic Attack, Skill 1, Basic Attack, Skill 2, and Ultimate, he unlocks his Ultimate and unleashes massive burst damage all at once.

He builds up sword energy with Basic Attacks, and at 4 stacks his Ultimate becomes available. Skill 1 dashes forward twice in a row, dealing damage to enemies along the path while gaining sword energy, and a third use returns him to the starting position of the first dash. Skill 2 makes him take no damage for a short time and slows enemies. His Ultimate transforms him into the sword energy itself, slashing rapidly and repeatedly to deal high damage.

For leveling skills, prioritize the Ultimate first, and when the Ultimate isn't available, level up Skill 1 first.

Advanced tips

These are tips for anyone playing Li Bai who feels like their damage is lacking, that they can't carry the team to victory, or that they die too quickly. To deal damage, it's important to dash into fights frequently with Skill 1, put out damage with your other skills, and dodge enemy attacks at the same time. The key to Li Bai lies in the timing of your skills. To carry the team, you need to lead the rhythm with the match's strategy and your combos. Dying too quickly happens when you haven't yet mastered how to manage distance from enemies and the timing of your skills.

Li Bai unlocks his Ultimate off monsters and minions and fights by alternating skills and Basic Attacks. He joins fights from afar with Skill 1, harasses with Basic Attacks while building sword energy, uses Skill 2 to both dodge damage and boost his power with lightning, and uses his Ultimate to combine damage avoidance with high burst. Depending on the situation, Skill 1 can also be used to escape. Skill 1 and Basic Attacks can cancel the recovery animation of the previous attack, and since landing Skill 1 builds sword energy, inserting a Basic Attack between the first and second hits of Skill 1 charges the Ultimate faster. The area of Skill 2 applies a lightning effect to monsters and enemy heroes, so learning its placement increases both your damage and your jungle clear speed. The Ultimate hits enemies in range five times, dealing maximum damage to a single hero but reduced power against multiple targets. Since it makes you untargetable for longer than Skill 2, use it to dodge important enemy damage or Crowd Control.

Early game, focus on leveling, and once you hit level 4 in the jungle, look for ambush opportunities in the mid or farm lanes. After taking an advantage in the crash lane, rotate to support the other lanes as well. Mid game, once your items are complete, unlock your Ultimate with Skill 1 and Basic Attacks to dive into teamfights, use your short cooldowns to break the enemy formation, and sweep them with your skills. Late game, the enemy's items are completed, so in teamfights use your Ultimate to harass, or supplement your team's damage with the two stages of Skill 1 and the lightning of Skill 2, and chase down the disadvantaged enemies.

The combo to take out the enemy's main carry is to dash with the first and second stages of Skill 1, apply Crowd Control with a Basic Attack in between, hit lightning with Skill 2, use the Ultimate, then escape with the third stage of Skill 1. When diving a tower, dash with Skill 1, unlock the Ultimate with a Basic Attack, use the Ultimate, escape with the third stage of Skill 1, and finally use Skill 2 to become untargetable and avoid the tower's and the enemy's attacks. When surrounded by multiple enemies, attack the enemy in front with Basic Attack, Skill 1, Basic Attack, then escape with the third stage. If enemies close in, create a long untargetable window with Skill 2 and the Ultimate, use Skill 1 twice, and escape once its cooldown is back. When pushing a tower with teammates, unlock the Ultimate off minions or monsters, reach the enemy with two uses of Skill 1, use the Ultimate, and escape with the third stage of Skill 1. This way you whittle down the enemy's HP and make it easier to force them back.

In team composition, heroes with abundant Crowd Control like Lady Zhen, Mozi, and Lu Bu create the space for Li Bai to deal damage. Marksmen with sustained damage like Huang Zhong and Allain supplement Li Bai's firepower. On the other hand, heroes with strong Crowd Control like Lian Po restrict Li Bai's movement, and Wuyan's Skill 2 nullifies Physical Damage, making her hard for Li Bai to finish off.
