Phone Grip / Ring Holder
Takes the weight off the hand holding the phone so your fingers only have to play.
What it changes
Holding the phone in landscape puts both thumbs on the controls, which leaves the remaining fingers to carry the whole device. When that grip feels unstable you unconsciously clench, and the tension travels into your thumbs. A grip or ring fixes the hold so your fingers only have to play. It also stops drops.
What to look at
Most mount slightly below the centre of the back — get the position wrong and it digs into your palm in landscape. A model that folds flat will not rock when you set the phone down. Stick-on types that go over a case get thrown away with the case. If you play on a tablet, a stand does more for you than a grip.
